Empower, Celebrate, Act: Embracing International Women's Day for Equality and Inclusion

Guess what? It’s that time of the year again - International Women’s Day (IWD)! This day, recognised on March 8th, is like a global party, celebrating all the amazing things we women have achieved socially, economically, culturally, and politically. But it’s not just about the party hats and confetti, it’s also a call to action for accelerating gender parity and advocating for women’s rights. It’s a day where everyone, regardless of gender, can join in and contribute to gender equality. It’s like a worldwide team effort, and we’re all in this together!

Why Not share the love with these awesome Appreciation Cards

Now, why should we celebrate International Women's Day, you ask? Well, it's not just a day to cheer for women's achievements (though that's a big part of it!). It's also a vital reminder of the ongoing struggle for gender equality and the need to keep pushing for change. It's like our annual check-up, reminding us that the fight isn't over and we need to keep advocating for women's rights and inclusion.

So, how can we celebrate this special day and make a difference? Here are some fun and meaningful ways:

Host a Discussion Group: Why not organise a regular book club or movie night with your friends, family, or community members? You can discuss books like "Becoming" by Michelle Obama or watch documentaries like "RBG," which focuses on the life of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It's like a book club, but with a feminist twist!

Leverage Social Media: Use your social media platforms to share stories, facts, and achievements of influential women throughout history and today. It's like a virtual museum of women's contributions to society!

Attend Workshops and Webinars: Participate in or organise workshops and webinars that focus on gender equality, women's rights, and empowerment. It's like going to school, but way more fun and inspiring!

Support Educational Programs: Support or volunteer for programs that aim to educate girls and young women, especially in areas such as STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), leadership, and human rights. It's like being a fairy godmother to the next generation of women leaders!

Create a Book Club: Start a book club dedicated to reading works by female authors or books that discuss women's rights, feminism, and equality. It's like a literary journey through the world of women's issues!

Promote Gender Equality in the Workplace: If you're in a leadership position, advocate for policies that promote gender equality and inclusivity in the workplace. It's like being a superhero for gender equality at work!

These "100 Women That Changed The World Cards" are ideal bitesized pieces of inspiration for any woman, espcially the young girls looking to find what they can aspire to be in this world.

By taking these actions, you can contribute to raising awareness about the importance of women's rights and the ongoing struggle for equality. Plus, it's a great way to educate yourself and others, and foster a community of support for advancing gender equality.

This is a lovely little day-to-day reminder to hold near. Keep this "May You Be Proud" Keyring close and don't loose motivation to be the best version of you.

And don't forget, it's also worth considering supporting Women-Owned Businesses and donating to Women's Charities. It's like giving a high-five to women entrepreneurs and causes!

So, let's get out there and spread the word about International Women's Day. Let's celebrate, let's educate, and most importantly, let's make a difference. Here's to strong women - may we know them, may we be them, may we raise them! 🥂🎉
