5 Ways To Burn Fat On A Budget

Updated: Jul 6, 2021

There are 2 things that are certain in life. 1, you’ll have to pay taxes. 2, you’ll end up starting a new diet at some point in your life. Just remember, there is always a way in which you can save money with whatever you start. There is no need for you to waste any of your hard-earned money when it comes to dieting. Here are 5 ways to help you burn fat on a budget.

Buying Healthy Food In Bulk

Just like so many other things, there are pros and cons to buying healthy food in bulk. The obvious downside is that you cannot store fresh food for long such as vegetables. Some great examples include buying a whole chicken instead of breasts and use leftovers for other meals, buy large packets of oats/rice/pasta and frozen vegetables can also be bought in bulk.

Stay Clear Of The Middle Aisles

One of the best ways to avoid spending money on all of the ‘naughty’ foods is to try and stay clear of the middle aisles in the supermarkets. It is within these aisles where you’ll find all of the packaged and processed foods. Packed with calories and higher in sodium, processed food isn’t the best route to take if you’re really trying to get in better shape. These foods also tend to be higher in price when packaging costs are taken into account. Stick to the fresh produce and frozen foods section, these will give you great low-cost and healthy substitutes.

Not As Healthy As You Think

When people are cutting back on their food, they tend to look towards healthy snacks as a convenient way to stay on track. Items such as snack bars and low-calorie crips are some of the most popular. One of the biggest factors for weight loss is portion control, but those tempting little 100-calorie snacks are nothing but a hindrance to your budget. A great way to battle this is to create your own healthy snacks. Pre-measure your snacks (almonds, peanuts, trail mix, etc...) at home to avoid paying over the odds for convenience.

Know What To Look For

Many people will simply look at the overall price of the product when they go food shopping. A big tip is to actually look at the unit price for the item you are buying. This will tell you how much the item is worth per unit, allowing you to compare the price against another product of different weight.

Change Up Your Commute

This tip may not be suitable for everyone. People can spend a lot of time throughout the course of their lives commuting to work. Have you thought about walking or biking to work if you live within a few miles? By doing this you will not only save on petrol (maybe even parking costs) but this will also help to boost your fat-burning every day. Not an option? Think about things in a smaller sense. Try taking the stairs instead of the elevator if you work in an office block. The great thing about exercise is that you can incorporate it into your daily routine.
